The BBC1 sitcom continues. So, the house was covered in boxes of teenagers' stuff. [livejournal.com profile] arkady moved one on the table and saw lots of tiny crawling things; baby bookworms or weevils or perhaps alien larvae. The teenagers dug through the boxes and discovered the source to be infested books belonging to the older one. We asked her to put the books in bags. She put them in a single supermarket bag, of the sort that has holes in the bottom. We insisted they be put outside, to avoid the room becoming ground zero in a general household weevil infestation. I suggested putting them out the front so they would be out of the room but under the eaves, so as not to get rained on. She put them out the back, so I went out to three bags of water and pulp. She brought them in, left them there for a couple of days and now they're back in their room. I had to remember I was a bit like that at that age.

([livejournal.com profile] redcountess: "You're still like that!")

Freda, meanwhile, has caught her mother's cold. She spent the early hours of Monday morning yelling because she felt awful. She was a bit better last night, but did end the day yelling because we wouldn't let her watch more CBeebies at midnight. We know the difference!

We is po', having done the budget and come out with a few flat rocks and some sweet wrappers. The three-figure phone bill came too. I want the head of our sitcom writer on a pike.

Life nevertheless remains mostly cheerful. Missing [livejournal.com profile] nyecamden, looking forward to Vagabonds with him on Saturday. I will be cadging drinks like a tarty leech, I assure you. I really should get last month's photos up.
