Wanted: gcc patch that implements "undefined behaviour" as "the compiler will leap out of the machine, beat the fucking shit out of you and cut your bollocks off with a bread knife." A training film or two of the previous perpetrator should result in some amazingly careful coding.

I got sound out of Rosegarden, but it was too much for the poor little netbook and kept running out of CPU. I'm now messing with LMMS. Ubuntu Maverick offers 0.4.5, which makes noise but crashes a lot. 0.4.8 for Windows works under Wine but the sound is fucked up. But I'm having great fun annoying [personal profile] arkady with bleepy noises. I HAVE A TRIPLE OSCILLATOR AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO USE IT.

Work is pleasantly busy. Latest Tomcat 6 on front ends and dev chain, testing everything on Java 7 (currently on Java 5, which was EOLed last November). Cleaning cruft out of the infrastructure.

There are all sorts of exciting front-ends to it, of whose quality I have no clue, or you can just hand-code everything in a text editor.

I would write that but while I was learning to program by the usual method of making a lot of mistakes, something leaped out of my computer and attacked me, making this impossible. By the sound of things I'm lucky I don't have any bollocks or the damage would have been much worse.
