Contemplating the record cull. Probably not before we leave here. Which is annoying in itself. My middle-aged rocknerd boss expressed his sympathy today and confessed that he too downloads someone else's rip rather than bother digging out the vinyl.
Ripping the tapes is going to be the real work. I do have the cassette deck rigged up and working.
25 years later, The Moodists' Engine Shudder sounds remarkably mellow, as hideous racket goes. And Killing Joke's 2006 album Hosannas From The Basements Of Hell is very good indeed; you should seek out a copy. They aimed to invoke 1979.

Date: 2011-02-01 12:15 am (UTC)Personally, I though that album was more the culmination of their metallic period (post-Democracy) and that Absolute Dissent was more deliberately targeting the 79/81 era.
Somewhat ironically, it has "The Great Cull" on it. I doubt it's about someone reducing his record collection. But it might be.
