Deciding at 10pm to do a grocery order and having it show up at the door 11am the next day is why living in the future is really cool.

Second day ill, insufficiently coherent even to work from home and asking [personal profile] arkady the same question three or four times in a row. Bored, but I've run out of internet dumb enough to understand. I was having trouble understanding lolcats earlier.

I showed Arkady this site a couple of days ago. The book just arrived from Amazon. She's emitting manic cackles. Countdown to lease-breaking household explosion in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

Online grocery shopping is one of only two innovations to occur in my lifetime (to date) which are clear and unequivocal wins in terms of reducing stress and bother.

(The other is direct debits.)

Indeed a wonder of the modern world, but I can't in all honesty say that my experience of shopping on Amazon - and indeed, specifically Christmas shopping on Amazon - has been one entirely free of stress and bother. Including this last, where a number of items selected by me as festive gifts have yet to find their way to their intended recipients.
