Made it to the pub last week, seeing much drunken twittering on the pub wifi. The BlackBerry is the best MP3 player I've ever owned, with a web browser as well. It also has a phone, but I won't hold that against it because I can switch it off.

It's been a pleasantly dull working holiday week. Some people actually showed up at the office.

Tomorrow, arkady will be taking the entire gaggle of daughters to meet a horse, with a view to taking on a share of the expense and riding it a lot. Freda will have her first ride, on a very old and slow one. Freda also bought her first glossy pony magazine yesterday. I will be poor for the next twenty years.

Mmum, horses. My mother made sure we could all ride because it is an excellent skill for house guests. She came from a land of bourbon and horses.
