We chased the users out of the building by about four, and both myself and the NT guy pissed off around 4:30. This evening I constructed the television stand that arrived on Friday. I now know in my heart why the nightmares of British handymen are haunted by flatpacks.

I r s0 l33t. I just got my first story on Slashdot. In a stunning demonstration of conservation of effort, I had actually found it on Boing Boing by syndicated feed to my LiveJournal friends list, and noticed it just now on the Slashdot feed to the friends list. Is there anything LJ can't do?

MERRY FUCKIN BLAH DE BLAH etc. See you all on Sunday?

Can't bring me more wine. *looks forlornly at bottom of glass*

Still, that was an interesting piece on Slashdot. Given the readership of slashdot, I was surprised at hte proportin of people who didn't get the point. Sad.

Merry whatsit to you too! Cheers...

Slashdot worries me

In that this is how they get all their stories now. No original journalism. By the time anything gets to /., it's already done the rounds. *sigh*

Oh well.

I suppose it's my prerogative as a consumer not to read it. So I don't. Sometimes I troll. Usually I get modded about 3 before anyone realises that actually I'm trolling.

In theory, yes, but none of the people who do LJ hacking seem interested in writing anything but posting clients, the one thing the Web interface handles perfectly adequately...

Yes, but I am not that person. :-(

[I find it slightly remarkable that none of the people out there who've already written foo->news gateways have done it, though. I'd offer them some money but I don't have any.]
