B-Movie roll call.
Jan. 10th, 2003 01:16 amKiki & Herb (seen with
marnameow,
sbp,
atommickbrane,
kikunohana and
polyvinyl and her impossibly cool punk rock friend Karen) were one of the finest things I have ever had the privilege of seeing, and I would feel the same way even if I hadn't gotten sloshed on Jack Frost at the Ship beforehand. Their press clippings page will give you the idea. REMEMBER THE NAME. SEE THEM AT THE NEXT POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY.
Had a nice play with the camera this evening. gPhoto2 supports the A40, and I even beat version 2.1 into installing. Now I just need to work out where the feck the USB driver puts it in the /dev tree. Bah. But THE CAMERA WORKS and your souls WILL be captured electronically. And this time the pics might even see webbing.
I never did get around to writing up B-Movie last month. B-Movie is where old goths get to go if they've been very, very good indeed. This month is 'eighties night', but I'm sure we can lynch the DJ if it starts sucking. So who's coming tonight?

Date: 2003-01-10 12:54 am (UTC)It frequently does clash with Friday things at Electrowerkz. And at least
I find your objection strange - if it was all that much about the music, there would be little point to going out at all. And don't tell me you'd keep showing if the music was lovely but you weren't bouncing around being social cheerful Perf.

Date: 2003-01-10 07:49 am (UTC)Now it seems that people are there in spite of the music - I've heard a few comments of "It's good to go there for the people, but the music sucks". And really, those sort of people I can see at Sluts meets. Sure, it's good to see them anyway, but it does lower the overall perkiness of the night.
And frankly, I'll take good music over good people any time. I can get good people elsewhere; good music is much harder to come by.

Date: 2003-01-10 12:51 am (UTC)One of these months I'll take Friday off and switch my Saturday shift to Sunday. But not this month - I'm not risking my health for something that could turn out to be wall to wall 80s cheese.

Date: 2003-01-10 02:12 am (UTC)Nice to meet you - sorry we didn't get to chat much, I didn't realise the Ship was quite so restrictive on larger crowds...

Date: 2003-01-10 02:37 am (UTC)So, as I said, if it sucks, we can always lynch them.

Date: 2003-01-10 02:54 am (UTC)The tally of not one but TWO CARTER TRACKS is unforgiveable! Unless they're intentionally placed there to get me off the dancefloor due to pissed Dancing Like Arse (not that I have ever been there obv).

Date: 2003-01-10 02:56 am (UTC)Anyway, the odd dancefloor break is good for you. Time to socialise and stuff.
What we really need is to get Sexbat a radio show.

Date: 2003-01-10 03:31 am (UTC)And although I love it, and I always dance to it, when o when {/points of view} will DJ's remember that them Buzzcocks did OTHER SONGS apart from Ever fallen in love...?
Bah, I actually want to go dancing a lot but sadly finances do not permit. Looks like I twirl around my bedroom to the sounds of Kate Bush again...

Date: 2003-01-10 04:20 am (UTC)Oooh a hanging party! Seeing as I'm free this Friday I might even go along now. A lot cheaper than going all the way to Whitby to lynch someone >;-)
