B-Movie roll call.

Kiki & Herb (seen with marnameow, sbp, atommickbrane, kikunohana and polyvinyl and her impossibly cool punk rock friend Karen) were one of the finest things I have ever had the privilege of seeing, and I would feel the same way even if I hadn't gotten sloshed on Jack Frost at the Ship beforehand. Their press clippings page will give you the idea. REMEMBER THE NAME. SEE THEM AT THE NEXT POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY.

Had a nice play with the camera this evening. gPhoto2 supports the A40, and I even beat version 2.1 into installing. Now I just need to work out where the feck the USB driver puts it in the /dev tree. Bah. But THE CAMERA WORKS and your souls WILL be captured electronically. And this time the pics might even see webbing.

I never did get around to writing up B-Movie last month. B-Movie is where old goths get to go if they've been very, very good indeed. This month is 'eighties night', but I'm sure we can lynch the DJ if it starts sucking. So who's coming tonight?

Sadly, B Movie is attracting more and more people who are there for the people, not for the music... I wish it clashed with a hardcore DOOFDOOF techno bollocks night or something :(

It frequently does clash with Friday things at Electrowerkz. And at least teqkiller, set up us the bleep as she is, was put off by the music. So.

I find your objection strange - if it was all that much about the music, there would be little point to going out at all. And don't tell me you'd keep showing if the music was lovely but you weren't bouncing around being social cheerful Perf.

The reason I go to B Movie is for the music. The first few B Movies, everybody was there for the music, it was a great crowd of people I haven't seen for ages, and everybody was wandering around with these huge shiteating grins because of the choonz.

Now it seems that people are there in spite of the music - I've heard a few comments of "It's good to go there for the people, but the music sucks". And really, those sort of people I can see at Sluts meets. Sure, it's good to see them anyway, but it does lower the overall perkiness of the night.

And frankly, I'll take good music over good people any time. I can get good people elsewhere; good music is much harder to come by.

The usual sort of setlist is here, and it's the Best Thing Ever; tonight's set will supposedly resemble a cross between that and the stuff they play at the '80s night in Whitby. I can't find a setlist online, but the B-Movie site says: "For 'B-Movie Presents', CharlieMouse and I hope to persuade a bunch of like-minded REPROBATES (that's you) to re-create the unmitigated CHAOS of the Whitby 80s Night @ Laughtons! For those of you that have never been the play list is *anything* from the 80s - it will probably be serious 80s Troma Cheese but with just a tad more punk-rock that we play at Laughtons."

So, as I said, if it sucks, we can always lynch them.
