[livejournal.com profile] ali_anarres' other purchases today were two CDs (Spectators by Wolfsheim and her own copy of Futureperfect by VNV), two books of Transmetropolitan ... and a DVD player and a copy of Queen Of The Damned. Oh God.

The only reason this is not the worst movie ever made is because I actually paid money at the cinema to see Battlefield Earth. It is very pretty. I didn't spot as many of my Melbourne cronies as I was hoping to. (To do so will require further viewings, and I really don't want to contemplate such just yet.) Stuart Townsend does much better as a shallow bloodsucker than I expected. If they had included every one of the deleted scenes, the movie might have made sense or something.

We coped with the aid of some of David's Blue Velvet Martini. As our brains tried to batter their way out of our skulls.

Ali: "This is not a film. It's a toy. It's the sort of thing you devise drinking games around."

At this moment, Ali is outside in the street playing with her poi. She's drunk, poi is addictive. You know how it is. Oh dear, now she's at it in the lounge.

And in the Lara Croft outfit she's threatening to wear to Slimelight:

Is it worth buying a copy of that (when I get my DVD player) for RSH's appearance or is it over too quickly?

I love how RSH is described in the cast: "vampire musician" (hasn't he always been?) The cheekbones!

I'm sorry. There is no movie worse than new rose hotel. Any other assumption is wrong. WRONG.

Battlefield Earth is appalling.

However, your karma is saved by Transmet - it's brilliant. Now try M.E.K....same people.

Is that because it is really bad or because you hate scientologists? Then again, it did actually make it to the cinema. You want bad movies, try Sky at night. (the satellite channels, not some programme on stars fronted by a barmy bloke in a monocle)

Two points of Karma for Wolfsheim and Transmet.
Minus one point for the outfit. She is a lovely lady, but, sorry, no... anyone but Lara!
Must get her something like Yuna in FFX-2

Worst movie ever made... I deduce you are not an MST3K fan, then, or you'd probably have seen "Manos: the Hands of Fate".

Non-MSTies talk about Plan 9 as the worst movie ever made. This is laughable to most MSTies who have seen plenty of worse movies; and in particular Manos - which makes Plan 9 look like an honest-to-God cinematic masterpiece.

That outfit needs a B-Movie outing, don't you think?
