[livejournal.com profile] arkady has been using her spare time productively: dolling up (kitty ears and all), going to Camden and sitting around the Dev midweek. I wandered down yesterday evening (having missed doing the same on Tuesday evening - bah!) and got pics of the Nice Boots:

[boots 1][boots 2][boots 2]

First two with my finger over the flash, in an attempt to moderate its effects - I had to turn the red right down on the resulting images. Third is full flash, and, of course, being next to a wall, Arkady's face is washed out. But the boots come out immaculately!

The boots are nine-buckle pointy boots from Underground Shoes. You can tell they're trad as fuck by the thin soles, the flat heels and that they're held together with real nails. They look ten times better in real life than in the catalogue pic.

Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] ins0uciance - I can't promise I'll make the Turtle this evening, but I'll give it a damn good go!

I'm amazed that something as obviously important as the Dolman-Saxlil Shoe Corporation can be so sparsely documented. Even H2G2 doesn't have any reference (although clearly it ought).

Unfortunately footwear dynamics, the Shoe Event Horizon and the rôle of the Dolman-Saxlil Shoe Corporation would take too long to explain for me to do it here. Either I'll do it the next time I see you, or someone else will enlighten you first.

Do you have any of the other Crouton Generation episodes? I was telling my daughter about these today, and now (of course) she wants to read the entire series, at least the part I was involved in.

Jesus you're quick. Are you neurally linked to your LJ account, or what?

I'd love to move back. If I knew I could get a job there. And then, of course, I'd just be working to pay the rent...

Once I sell something I'll be sorely tempted. If we can get a film option, I'm outta here.

Absofrickinlutely. But just once. Once I've got $$$ in the bank I can afford some kind of artistic integrity.

there were *another* pair of Underground boots (god love 'em!) I was drooling over whilst in Camden..... Maybe I should start saving my bickies so I can have some more boot porn. I've got quite a collection going now.

May I add my whine to Cam's and say "I miss the Dev too!" {pout}
