From this week's Popbitch, The Gay To Z of Popbitch:

N is for...

Northern Line
Want to meet men on the tube? Apparently the last carriage on any Northern Line train is a mobile cottage.

Until recently, I caught the Northern Line home from work every day. Usually travelling in the last carriage. I suppose it must be a more interesting journey of late.

Can't say I've noticed it myself.

How do they keep the straw from falling off the roof onto the tracks?

Or Edgeware or High Barnet or Mill Hill East branch? Northern 'Line' indeed, more like Northern bloody Mobius strip...

I'm not bothered by that - I never go up to the wilds of north London. But I do travel on the Charing X branch through the west end a lot, and if I'm going to Leicester Square for onward travel on the Piccadilly line, then I will travel in the last coach, as it's closest to the exit. So I need to know what to expect. :-)

Now that I think about it, in the old Northern Line trains, when they used to have a bloke opening and closing the doors, he used to travel in the last car ...

I used to be that dude, I must confess to never having seen any hot boy-on-boy action though. Seeing as I still work for LUL, maybe I should make some enquiries - I have a good source on all LUL gay related things.......

I knew there was some Tooting on the northern line, but not this :)

I've never noticed either... although I hasten to point out I rarely travel in the last carriage of a Northern Line train - so that's probably why!

I suspect in future, the final carriage will mainly consist of a few gay men hoping to get lucky and the remainder will be made up of voyeurs wanting to see what's going on! ;-)
