Down the pub last night with [livejournal.com profile] arkady, then home to [livejournal.com profile] redcountess and the first meal cooked in the shiny new oven (that, like, works and stuff). We're slowly making this lemon ours.

Tonight is, of course, B-Movie. Myself and the abovenamed will be endeavouring to attend. For Liz and I, this is only possible by the generous sponsorship of [livejournal.com profile] ali_anarres. You are, of course, invited to *pint* us as the opportunity arises. I will be wearing the Sweetheart of the Piccadilly Line outfit. MEN IN SKIRTS!

(Though I will be arriving in more normal clothes and doing a quick-change in the little goths' room. Walthamstow may be nice, but it's not that nice.)

MEN IN SKIRTS!

Good, god! Don't write things like that on your journal at quarter past ten in the morning. It's not good for me :-)

I found just the thing for you: Boots 17 Sensitive Mascara. According to the blurb it: "Gently thickens and lengthens your lashes. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. Mild, fibre-free formulation. Flake and clump resistant. Anti-smudge. Lasts all day. fragrance free. Dermatologically tested."

What that actually means is that it won't clump, won't glue your eyes shut, and won't irritate your eyes or damage your contacts.

I'll bring it with me tonight so you can try it. I'll also bring the wipes....

It costs a bit more, but I'd say the Boots No.7 (makeup for grownups) is better. It gives me lashes like tarantula legs, and doesn't irritate my lenses.

Poi!

What time are you likely to be hitting B-Movie? I was planning "as early as possible", but I can come and meet you at the door at $time.

Why does everyone bother with B-Movie when Perversion is so much better?

(a) for a fiver you get to go clubbing till 7 a.m.
(b) you get 2 (sometimes 3) dancefloors with different music.
(c) it's a *club* (if you can call Elektrowerks a club!), not a pub with a tiny dancefloor.

B-movie is good when you're pissed. But only then. Besides, I was there in the 80s (so where you Dave), and I don't wanna listen to all that music all over again. I'm not old enough yet to get all nostalgic over the eighties, or nineties or whatever.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Kill me if you don't agree, I don't care. :)

Personally, I'm going there because people I know, friends perhaps even, will be there. I also have to be functional the next morning, which cuts out the all-night debauchery. Since I can't dance worth a damn, the tiny dancefloor doesn't bother me.
Also, B-Movie has real ale to drink. This is important. I need beer.

Heh, I usually smuggle in my own "drink"... ;) Much cheaper that way.

They had some real ale on last month, I drank it.
I can't remember what it was, mind you, but it was definitely real, though rather well-hidden on the bar.

It was on from about 11pm in March. When you weren't there. So I think you have an anti-beer field as well.
