[livejournal.com profile] nisaba is the finest human ever to breathe somewhat. I worship her bounteous beauty, her brilliant mind, her noble and loving soul, her sulky sultry looks and her luscious body. I don't just like her for her abilities to track down Gudang Garams, honest. Hell no.

The house is sort of shaping up. It would be a lot less of a mess if we had anywhere to put anything. But we're buying homewares at a fantastic rate. And oh fuck it's Christmas soon.

This morning I was paged at 5:30am. I ignored it as long as I could, though by the time I got to it at six the morning shift had arrived and had temporarily cleared the problem. One of our newsfeed providers has severely broken their feed. The alert's been going off all day, including from 9pm until 9:30pm this evening. Unfortunately, the monitoring application is constructed from cheese, string and popsticks. I think the relevant stored procedure has been suitably modified. I'm sure I'll find out tonight.

Prithee.

I've never heard them called popstick, we called 'em icy pole sticks, but then, I'm from Melbin, not Perth :-)

I can't get used to the English name for them - ice lollies - at all!

I don't get "ice lollies" either, but, then, I just don't get "lollies." They're lollipops. Or loans, depending.

A popsicle and an ice lolly aren't the same thing. A popsicle is a (roughly) drumstick length thing with no stick, a lolly is a (even more roughly) cigarette packet shaped thing on a stick.

They had special ones in the 70s that were coloured plastic with slots, so you could specifically build things with them.

So you're back to your favourite supply of crack now then?

As for dreams, you've seen just what my subconscious can dredge up. I still need to transfer the recent lot to [livejournal.com profile] gothrose (and seriously think about renaming that LJ to something more appropriate...).

No, obviously not :P

And 'popstick' must be a Perthite word - I'd call 'em paddlepop sticks.

Menthol cloves are like smoking cloves and brushing your teeth at the same time. Breath in clove, breath out fresh minty goodness. Very odd.
