I do not have a third of a ton of vinyl records. I have just under half a ton of vinyl records. 440kg of records and other personal effects are sitting on a pallet in a warehouse in Felixstowe, accumulating assorted because-we-can charges. My aunt in Amersham has offered to put them up for me, but woohoo! She's moving house in early June, about the same time we plan to! Tomorrow I call self-storage places around Walthamstow and then try to work out which is a less worse idea.

I could also do with ideas on getting it from Felixstowe to either Amersham or Walthamstow ... my aunt's Mondeo is unlikely to be suited to the task.

In any case, *pint*s by the cartonload to [livejournal.com profile] ozjester for having stored the damned things so long and for his superlative and/or lucky choice of shipping company such that they got here intact. One day soon ... I will play my vinyl again.

Oh, and Saint Chav has been considerably extended by the efforts of [livejournal.com profile] abigailb. I've also added a 17th century lithograph of St. Chav's Cathedral in Lakeside, Essex.

So how many LPs is that? Just as rule of thumb of course..

Estimate 5 LPs per kilo (it's probably on the lower end, but...).

As I understand it, there's something like 32 crates of LPs. I have no idea how many LPs per crate, but we're talking easily into the thousands.
