This morning, we dismantled the Ikea bed. As I said on Uncyclopedia:

That achieved, the new bed arrived after two months' wait. And hooray, two of the drawers are unusably broken! arkady says they look like they were damaged during delivery. I called customer disservice baying for blood and was told they couldn't or wouldn't do anything until the end of next week. I invoked the spectre of "give me all my thousand quid back, including delivery." (Trading Standards offer such useful ideas. I successfully invoked this spectre against Ikea a few years ago and did indeed get back everything including delivery.) We shall see. Whiny Little Bitch mode: ACTIVATE.

Apart from that, we're fine. Just fine. I might have a camera for eyeliner297 to start on, even.

Is there really nothing on this weekend? It's a long weekend!

Update: reddragdiva.co.uk is doing its party-stopping yoyo impression. I hope to move it to the non-deprecated server soonish.

Did you sign for them? Always check for damage or write on the receipt that you have not checked the items. If there is damage, make sure it is all noted.

I signed as delivered, but that won't save them from damage that clearly wasn't visible without opening the plastic ... particularly as they were hurrying me along as they were double-parked. Trading Standards takes a very dim view of that sort of gaming.

i got a free bed delivered to the door from Ikea when the midbeam on ours broke after about 6 months.

The midbeam on ours didn't break, but the screws holding it on went after six months. We could have got a replacement for the bit of wood that failed to hold the screws, if I went out to Lakeside with the bit needing replacing. But that had way too high a PITA factor, so we just held it on with roofing bolts instead. The bed itself is pretty robust, it's those screws that sucked. Also assembling or disassembling the fucker.
