Things have definitely started, but they're taking ages. Three midwives showed up at 1am; arkady's at 1cm dilation right now with contractions lasting twenty seconds, so we're going to try to get some sleep and we'll call when they're getting over about forty seconds.

It's my third child, and I have a past history of labours going fast so we basically called them early - when contractions were regular enough to actually have a pattern. We're a 5-minute ambulance-ride from Whipps cross, but I knew the midwives would have to come from home so we figured best to call sooner rather than later.

Things are progressing slowly but steadily; baby will likely be born probably sometime this evening at my guess.
