I lost my virginity to the sounds of the Birthday Party's 4AD singles collection. Continued inept attempts at sex over the next few hours were to Forever Now by the Psychedelic Furs.

(Post-punk is a surprisingly good shagging soundtrack, considering at the time it was my soundtrack to not getting laid.)

You?

Technical loss of virginity was in silence, as it was on a boat on the river Thames moored somewhere near Egham. it was at a party, but a river/boat party with no music, for obvious reasons (lack of plugs, nobody could afford the batteries).

2nd time/2nd person involved Depeche Mode.

However, in pop culture, loss of virginity/shagging to Joy Division turns up quite a lot.

I think the quality of post-punk as shagging soundtrack depends on the particular flavour of post-punk. Joy Division surprisingly good. I can't imagine Psychedelic Furs being much cop for me, but The Cure have always been quite good. Except "Faith", which is emphatically a non-shagging album for me.

I had an entiire relationship that involved shagging to Joy Division and that other band they became afterwards. Appropriately, the boy was beautiful but broken.
