Just off the phone to the world. Fuck me, do they actually sell beds for non-midgets in this country? Are you all malevolent dwarves who actually consider a five-foot-wide mattress "king size"? I'm desperately searching for a six-foot-wide mattress that's actually in stock anywhere, won't take four to six sodding weeks to order in and won't cost most of a thousand quid. Tips gratefully welcomed.

Oh, er, last few days. Borrowed a metric shitload of books from [livejournal.com profile] marnameow on Wednesday and retrieved my music hard disk. And my hat. Marlborough Head on Thursday was good, though the smoke got to even me by about nine. Stayed in last night rather than Tenebraeing, but I did discover to my horror that Midori and tequila is actually surprisingly drinkable. Maybe it could be called the Girlie Lolly Go Out And Burn The Street Down or something.

My bed in BrisVegas is much wider than the one here!! I always wondered whey there are no Queen size beds here - would it be considered as an affront to the Monarchy? When Charlie takes over, will the King size beds suddenly be renamed Queen so we don't offend him too?

I don't have a malevolent bone in my body ... it's all in my brain.

Are Australian rooms bigger than UK rooms?

So an Australian queen size bed is the same as what they call a Califronia King in the U.S? I had no idea! Do you know how big a king size bed is in Australia?

California Kings are the longest standard size in the U.S, but a normal king size is only four inches shorter and the widest at 6½ feet. It must be cool to be on a bed that's wider than I am tall. Shit, if U.K. bed sizes are anything to go by, a quad could sleep comfortably on that bed in that country! =)

I kinda like the way the Dutch refer to bed sizes—they simply say the dimensions in centimetres every time, instead of making up goofy names for them.

So you'd be the new Brisbanite I'm hearing about in London? I'm also told you don't know who I am. Tut tut, very offended

Well hello there! Yah, that'd be me, the Brisbanite. You too, huh? We should know each other, considering there's only about one and a half million people in Brisbane...

Maybe we can rectify that here in London some time?

It's just interesting because as many people will attest it's difficult to have been around the Brisbane goth scene and not at least have seen me.

I'm actually not in London anymore having returned to Brisbane in May, but I keep in contact with a bunch of the uk_goffs over the net.
