I look forward to binge day on the diet, but it increasingly feels like work. The trouble with eating actual food all week is that eating crap then feels like eating crap. How annoying. 93kg this morning, however, and [personal profile] arkady says I'm not looking unhealthy at all on it. Large lump of fat on abdomen that just won't shift, though (and never has all my life).

This "Stilton" is a failure: it was in the fridge all week and utterly failed to stink the place out. I am after recommendations on a weapons-grade runny blue cheese that I have some chance of finding in Asda.

The Pembury last Sunday was packed to the rafters with what [personal profile] morwen and I finally had to admit to ourselves were hipsters. Apparently the Hoxton toxic waste pool is splashing up as far as Hackney. I suppose as long as [livejournal.com profile] timeplease can turn them upside down and efficiently shake all the money out, they're not a total loss. And you can be sure that every single one of them will happily tell you how much they can't stand hipsters. Nice chats on the end of civilisation with [personal profile] hairyears and [personal profile] khalinche as well.

The best deal I can find on a Crackberry 9300 from a not-more-criminal-than-usual company is £20/month from ... Vodafone. How annoying.

This week has been and next week will be doing my boss's job as well as my own, as he uses up his holiday. Just slightly frazzled, yes.

Meanwhile, Freda has a new scooter! She is already planning to ride it to nursery every day.

I usually get a quarter-Stilton from Makro, mature it for a couple of weeks, cut it into usefully-sized portions, and stick it in the freezer in separate bags.

For something a bit runnier, Cambozola is good.

If you want cheese that doesn't taste of yellow plastic, don't go to a cheap supermarket.

The Waitrose stuff marked "6" for strength fights back. I have even heard rumours of a "7". Or just nip over to Covent Garden and stock up at Neal's Yard Dairy.
