You fat fingered twat!
Nov. 30th, 2002 05:06 pmThat's the title of the forthcoming Deathboy live album.
ladylilith and I made it for the gig, work-printed flyers at the ready. Given that half the audience were there for Deathboy, I think we can regard this as a gig where the headliner opened.
Deathboy were pretty good. I could tell the songs apart this time. There's a great contrast between Scott's songs of deep angst and his charm-laden personable stage presence - expect to see this man on daytime infomercials in twenty years.
gashinryu grabbed the bag of Whitby rock from Scott and threw it to the crowd ... Liz got the first one, the second one actually landed in my jacket pocket. The Garage is a poxy hole - is this place typical of what London has to offer in live venues, or is it an especially bad case?
Deathboy kicked arse playing in their home ground - next is to see how they do at an away game.
Liz was ill so we departed after Deathboy (though the goodbye process was long enough to stretch into the Ju Ju Babies - girly pop, also pretty good). Stopped in Golders Green for a nice Indian meal, then home to sleep our brains out.
Tonight I go to
marnameow and
sbp's to look after the kitties. No Slimes tonight.

Date: 2002-11-30 09:19 am (UTC)You obviously haven't been to the Camden Barfly for a gig!
Not bad room to see a band (for a pub back room), but the toilets are so dire, I dare not drink there for fear of having to use them.
The Borderline, the Underworld, the Forum and even the Astoria can be good. Ditto Shepherds Bush Empire. Cannot comment on Camden Palace or a few other places either due to not having been there.
Were you in the Garage or Upstairs at the Garage?

Date: 2002-11-30 05:35 pm (UTC)First away gig, so it better not be too scary down there.
On a slightly different note, didn't I meet you at Whitby?
