Polyshamory: They go with with anyone they like, but curiously veto their partner(s)' choices every time. Except of course with the hypothetical or unattainable. A slightly less extreme version is to only allow them to be with people less attractive than they perceive themselves to be.

Fauxsexual: Kisses the same sex in public, wouldn't give them head in private with a gun to their heads. Someone who gives bis a bad rep with gays.

(Shamelessly stolen from [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona.)

Update: You're all about the poofterism, but not one comment about polyshamory?

I've never been a fan of that word. It makes it sound ... I don't know, like somehow being bi is weird or deviant or whatever, and applying it seems unnecessary - either you don't know if you fancy women, in which case you're probably *not*, or you do fancy them and you ARE, regardless of whether you've had the chance to do anything about it, you know? I don't like the idea of making orientation about action other than attraction. Otherwise we'd all be asexual until we lost our virginity, and ... I'm sure you can see the flaw in that argument!

... woo, pet peeve there. :D

"I don't like the idea of making orientation about action other than attraction. Otherwise we'd all be asexual until we lost our virginity"

indeed. It also precludes that following action having decided that said action is in fact, definitely not for you, that it`s too late and you`ve already defined your sexuality.

See comment below on why I used that word - and I absolutely agree with you

Excellent point. Sometimes it's the unsatisfactory nature of relations with one sex that makes you realise that there are other options.

I would agree with you - except for how it was phrased. Someone who knows they fancy people of their own gender is Bi, but the phrase was "thinks they'd *like* to give head in private". That implies a question in their own minds.

Mmm, true, but it would also suggest they're leaning pretty heavily towards bi anyway. And not everyone likes giving head full stop.

Also true - I dunno, I use to word for people who are, you know, not sure if they are bi or not. I didn't think people might find it a bad one. I shall have to go think about it, as it seems others agree

exactly!!
see, i'm pretty sure that it's possible to enjoy snogging someone, enjoy various filthy activities with them, but still not enjoy giving oral sex.

Given the number of girls who write in to things like Cosmo saying they hate giving blowjobs, you'd think it would be a logical step. After all, there are plenty of fun things you can do that don't involve your mouth at all.

That's because most guys have:

A) No 'manners' when it comes to things like that.

B) Less than stellar hygeine.

If he's got the idea that it's ZOMGCOOL to grab your head and go to work on your face like he's a goddamned engine piston AND it smells (and most likely tastes)like sweat, salt, and scraps of leftover *ahem* waste products, of course you're going to hate it.

The first two are acceptable, the second two...
Unless that's your fetish, go wash first!
And if HE doesn't know it, any self respecting partner would TELL him to go and clean up.
Then again, I'm nutty about being clean and tend to not even want a kiss if I don't think my breath is almost perfectfresh.

Even worse is if there's no warning before it all ends.
It's rude to assume women (or men for that matter) automatically like to or want to swallow.

Porn != Real World.
I suspect that a lot of people forget that sometimes.

I'm glad my husband has manners and good hygeine.

women can be *at least* as skankily gross. pubic hair full of cottage cheese and bits of bogroll. spending half an hour lapping at that is not any more appealing a prospect than having someone plunge your mouth like he's unblocking a drain.

Get me really drunk and I might tell you about the Worst Head I Ever Gave (which was to a woman, I've not had any spectacularly terrible experiences with cock, bi and gay men tend to be better about hygiene)

Tell ya what, next time you're in the note I will get extra speshul plastared and i will regale you with tales.

Or just find me on IM after I get back from the hedrons gig tonight, I will likely be sufficently steaming.

No disagreement there. ;)
However, the comment was in response to women writing in to magazines about how they hate giving blowjobs.

Personally, I find pubic hair and body hair in general to be highly unattractive no matter who it's on.

well, yeah. i was just adding that it works for not wanting to give oral sex to women, too.

eh, i'm in favour of adults having pubes. lack of body hair creeps me out (yeah, i know i'm in the minority here :), but there's no reason why body hair should be *dirty*. washing yourself is not a lost art. :)

I don't find pubic/body hair to be 'dirty', I just don't like the look or feel of body hair for the most part.
It feels like a very wiry terrier type dog.
I already have one of those; it's sleeping on the couch a few feet away.

Plus, in my case, lack of hair makes it MUCH easier to use the Diva Cup. ;)
