Now living the suburban high life in Hendon (NW4). Ten minutes' walk to the Tube, an hour's commute (door to desk) to work. Convenient to civilisation, i.e. Camden. No PC at home, hence no access to my usual email addresses, Usenet or IRC haunts for the time being.

Now to actually get my stuff shipped over from Australia ...

I need to buy a bed in fairly short order. Advice welcomed. I'm thinking queen-size futon in the first instance.

Have you seen the price of futons in this country? (In Canada they're dirt cheap and all students have one; over here they seem to be some sort of luxury item). Unless a futon is what you really want, I'd buy a bed straight away. There's lots of discount mattress places where you can buy a decent mattress for rock bottom prices.

Or if you've got access to a van and fancy a trip to Bristol, I have a king size mattress that needs a good home for the right price.

No, not your mattress. It's a different one I could do with getting rid of.

At one point we had three beds in total - one double, two king size, and one of Jason's mates trying to give us *another* king size bed. We had a veritable plague of mattresses.
