We have a spare fridge. Beko fridge-only-no-freezer, fits in a standard undercounter space the size of a dishwasher or washing machine, works fine but is now redundant to our needs. Fetch from E17 and it's yours.

It was hot enough this week to set up the paddling pool. Freda is, of course, delighted.

I tried upgrading my work machine to Ubuntu 12.04 this week. A fresh-off-the-CD Kubuntu took two to five seconds to respond to each mouse click. XFCE, of course, actually works and I can get shit done. KDE has gone batshit with much the same effects as GNOME's previous descent. KDE hasn't gone completely insane, though apparently one of its developers has. Here's another lovely example. Finding all the problems with Christophe Giboudeaux's proposed "solution", and with his suggestion of where else to report the issue, is left as an exercise to the reader.
