Polyshamory: They go with with anyone they like, but curiously veto their partner(s)' choices every time. Except of course with the hypothetical or unattainable. A slightly less extreme version is to only allow them to be with people less attractive than they perceive themselves to be.

Fauxsexual: Kisses the same sex in public, wouldn't give them head in private with a gun to their heads. Someone who gives bis a bad rep with gays.

Update: You're all about the poofterism, but not one comment about polyshamory?

You see, I *hate* that word. It smacks, to me, of fauxmosexuality.

I usually just use the term 'not fussed', or maybe 'open to all' or in my case 'it has legs, I'm easy...' and in the case of a friend of a friend, 'never mind how many legs... I'm in!!!'.

Can "open minded" simply be another word for bi-sexuality/curiosity?

Well I am neither 100% bisexual and I am definitely not bi-curious - bi-curious is what I was at 13 when I started fancying women but was unsure. I'm just 'not fussed'.

Wait, hold it - You're not bi-curious and yet you're not 100% bisexual? So you're either straight or gay, right?

Nope! I suppose I technically go by the term 'bi-sexual' but I also hate to give myself such sticky labels... So I prefer 'not fussed' etc :oP I know, I know, I'm being difficult... But I'm also not limiting myself!

You can't possibly limit yourself with the term "bisexual" because that means you swing both ways :P

I know - but it still gives me this sense of... lacking. Somehow. I can't explain it!

I prefer the term "pansexual" myself; to some people, gender really is irrelevant.

SOmehow, I manage to be both pansexual and asexual at the same time. I'm still trying to figure that one out. I think I'm attracted to personalities, irrespective of gender (hence pansexual) but cannot abide physical intercourse (hence asexual).

It's hard to explain. And I'm kind of waiting for my subconscious to notice what I'm writing about and have a mammoth freakout now....

I did hate it, until someone asked me pretty much the same as you asked above. It seems there isn't a better word, and the fauxmosexuals should just be labelled accurately :-)

"Bi and inexperienced" works, I think. Straight and gay folk aren't held to the "you have to have fucked 'em to know" standard, why should bisexuals be?

as I said - it was the phrasing of the question - "thinks might like to" implies uncertainty, not knowledge

BTW, I am bi, but have never come across bicuroius being viewed negatively

Virgin. Virgin lesbian. Virgin bisexual. This one is easy. Everything else assumes that bi-curiousity has straight substrate and isn't lesbian girls seeing what the fuss is over boys or gay boys seeing if they can manage a girl.

I'd never thought about it like that...
From: [identity profile] mouseworks.livejournal.com
Yeah, and what does that imply? If he fucks a woman, he's straight?

Semantics, it's not just for the average.

In fairness, it would help if we washed a bit more...

Some women appear to fantasize that if Oscar Wilde would have only slept with them, he'd have straightened right out. We were talking about one of Wilde's biographers at brunch last week.
